Christmas gift guide for a beauty addict!

hiyaa,

Like most others, I am super excited for Christmas! And as a teenage girl, I know what I want, so I’ve put together this gift guide of things I’d love for Christmas, things I’ve already got, and things I think my friends and family would like too! The prices vary but I think I’ve got a good range that any beauty addict would adore!

£5 and Under

Tanya has brought lots of beautifully packaged Christmas gifts this year, and honestly, I want them all! But I think these little nail polish and lip gloss sets are the cutest stocking fillers or gifts for a friend. And I love how you can hang them on your tree! Adorable!

Obviously, Zoe is killing the game at the moment, with her new book, homeware range and vlogmas, but of course there is her beauty range in superdrug and online at feel unique. The packaging is super sweet and the gingerbread scent is perfect for this time of year! She has gone all out and has soso many different gift sets this year but I thought this shower gel bauble is sooooooo cute and great as a little gift. Not to mention, how more christmassy can you get than with gold glitter!?!

£10 and Under

Makeup Revolution has always been a very affordable brand but surprisingly great quality. So when I saw these sets of 144 eyeshadows for just £10, I had to add them to this list. I think this would be perfect for someone just starting out with makeup as you pretty much get every colour imaginable! They have a matte version but I’d much prefer the shimmer for this time of year!

So as a teenager, it’s about the time you start experimenting with makeup and trying new things out so something else that is super important are cleansers. So this little set from Simple is perfect, with a cleanser, toner and moisturiser, it’s a good introduction for a skincare routine. At this age we’re just starting to realise our skin is weird and likes to get spotty from time to time so they’ll take this as a kind little hint ;)

£15 and Under

Now, I actually have this myself in the shade, Copenhagen, and I love it! It comes with 8 eyeshadows and, what I think is a full size soft matte lip creme. They come in quite a few different shade to suit everyone but I think this one is the best as pinks/burgundies are so popular this time of year with a nice red lip for Christmas. I’ve used this everyday since I got this and the quality is so good for just £15! The perfect gift!

I know this isn’t really a beauty gift but I do know that this is the perfect Christmas present! I have this myself and the travel mug is so cute with a marble design and the fingerless gloves are adorable and just imagine yourself wearing them with your hot chocolate in your hands! Lovely!

£20 and Under

The other day I was lucky enough to get my hands on a set of 12 real techniques brushes & sponges for just £40 from £100. But I think this set is much better as a gift. Brushes are always a great gift idea as they are quite important but also rather expensive. This limited edition design makes them extra special and a greta gift!

I literally love everything Soap and Glory! It may even be my favourite brand for skincare and toiletries! Again, this is a brand that have brought out lots of different gift sets with varying prices so there is something for everyone! I chose this set as it has 2 different scents and the packaging is my favourite out of them all. I know I’d love one of their sets this Christmas!

Over £20

I’m deadly serious when I say, I want EVERYTHING Too Faced has to offer this year. The packaging is the best I’ve ever seen and I know they’re really popular and a favourite among youtubers! I haven’t tried anything from this brand yet but a little gift for Christmas is the best way to start! They all just look amazing!

These gifts are definitely for the major makeup lovers! The Mac Nutcracker Sweet range this Christmas is to die for! The packaging is beautiful pink, purple and gold colours and some of the most wanted presents this Christmas! Lots of the stuff has sold out completely and a while back now I got my sister a set of 4 mini goldy bronze pigments that I was so tempted to keep for myself! Ohhhh man, what I’d do to get one of these bad boys for Christmas!

I hope this gift guide either helped you find a gift for someone else or has added loads more onto your own Christmas list! I know I’d love all of these! I’ve also linked everything to where you can buy it.
Have a very merry Christmas!

Some bits from Tanya Burr Cosmetics autumn collection!

hiyaa,

The other day, I was Christmas shopping but couldn’t help getting a little something for myself! I’ve been meaning to get something from this range for a while now but I finally got round to picking a few things up! So I got 2 new things from Tanya Burr Cosmetics that I really quite like!

I was quite intrigued by this product when I first saw it so I thought I’d give it a try. After using it, I think it’s really nice and makes my skin really radiant. I think you’re meant to mix it in with your foundation, but I don’t play by the rules and I just cover my face in it! I have found that it makes my skin really soft but I don’t think it’s quite worth the price as I’m running out quickly! That being said, I’ll still carry on using this and most probably re-purchase. Ohh, and also, the rose gold packaging is just amazing (probably what made me want to buy it)!!!!

I wasn’t planning on getting one of these Lipsticks because I’m not really a lippy type of girl. But I saw Tanya using this colour in her videos and it was just too dreamy not to try! It’s quite a rosy brown but not too drastic, I think the shade name describes it perfectly! The staying power is great and the pigmentation is fantastic. Its great for me as it’s not too different to my natural lip colour so it’s subtle but pretty. I’d say the formula is like a cream sheen as it’s not a high gloss and it’s not matte either. Overall, I love this shade and I’ll probably be reaching for this lipstick a lot!

So that’s a few things I’ve got from Tanya’s autumn collection and don’t worry, I’ll probably be getting some more! Her brand is such good quality but yet so affordable and some of her products will definitely be going on my Christmas list this year!

Thankyou for reading my blog and I hope you liked this post!

Pamper evening routine!

hiyaa,

So recently I have been loving a bit of time to myself. And what better way to wind down and relax than to have a…pamper evening!!! I’ll sometimes have a bath or maybe take a technology break, read a book or just…think! I’ll make sure I use all my favourite products to make my skin silky smooth and make myself smell of all things luscious, then I proceed to block out the rest of the world for a couple hours or so. It’s real fun, you should give it a try. Usually I’ll have a pamper evening when everything is getting a bit too much and I need a break. Also, I like to give myself a good enough reason to deserve some relaxation time. So this is my typical routine though I do like to switch it up sometimes!

So to start with I almost always need a nice big mug of hot chocolate (with whipped cream of course) and then I’ll sip away at that while I’m running my bath.

Time for the best bit, Bathtime! I’ll most likely use a Lush bath bomb and my favourite is the experimenter. I LOVE vanilla scents! (plus who doesn’t love a rainbow bath!) Then I’ll just wash my hair with Treseme and probably use my Zoella shower gel and the scrub.

Next I put on my favourite music which is usually Disney songs. But you know because it’s that time of year again, it’s time to whip out my all time favourite tunes…my much loved……Christmas playlist!!!! I’ll then have a little sing song and jam session.

After that I go through my skincare routine as well as a face mask maybe, one that’s a really funny colour and makes really good, silly selfies!

Finally I’ll just lye down in my bed and either watch telly and catch up on the soaps or I’ll have a look on Netflix for any new films or shows. At the moment my favourite thing to watch that doesn’t require too much concentration is ‘that 70s show’ which is hilarious!

So then I’m feeling relaxed and refreshed and feeling good! Hope you liked this post, I’m sure your idea of a pamper evening is much more interesting and fun than mine but this is my idea of a treat!

The Perfect Pair!

hiyaa,

So just the other week I purchased some new skincare products. I’ve been meaning to pick these up for a long time which is why I’m here making a review today but mainly I bought them because they were on special offer! Simple skincare is so popular because of its high standard yet affordable price. I don’t think it’s worth spending sixty quid on a moisturiser when something a fraction of the price can work just as good!

So I bought 2 products, one I already own and the other, something I’ve been super excited to try! Something else that drew me in to these products, is the ‘kind to skin’ phrase. I have horribly sensitive skin, so any product that claims to be good for my skin and not give me a nasty horrible rash, I'm all for it! Not to mention that Simple are ‘Sensitive Skin Experts’…I love them so much for making my life so much easier! Okay, maybe I sound a bit overdramatic but these things are worth the hype!

So I have already spoken about this product in my skincare routine post because I have already previously owned the travel size of this product. And when that ran out, I was devastated! The few days without this product were really tough. Until the weekend when I could buy the full size product. Without this, my skin is dry and horrible! I use this every morning and night. Its great for taking off minimal makeup (eyeshadow, mascara, concealer etc) And afterwards it makes my skin super smooth! And you’ll be happy to know that this 150ml bottle is only £1.95 ! amaaazingggggg!

These two products go so well together and this moisturiser is great! I wouldn’t say it makes my skin super duper soft or anything crazy like that but it makes a great base for make up. I only use this once a day in the morning, but it sinks in really quickly and does the job! No more dry skin! This too is £1.95 which is less than half price on a product which was already soooo cheap! This’ll take me a while to get through but I’m pretty sure I’ll be repurchasing!

So I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post and I would defo recommend giving these products a go and see if they work for you!

Simple makeup for school or work!

hiyaa,

Obviously, for school, I can’t wear too much make-up. But I think it would be more of a crime for me to reveal my dark circles under my eyes or the blotchy redness across my face. So I, being the kind-hearted person I am, still wears just a tad of make-up for everyone else’s benefit of course!

So I’ll just show you my school/basic makeup routine! I go for just a smoothing primer base and a cover/concealer stick rather than a heavy full coverage concealer for my base. Then I use a lengthening mascara just to open up my eyes. Then my last step is my brows which I just lightly go over with a brow gel. Nothing too fancy and great for a rush! I can do this in under 3 minutes!

So there you go! When I said basic I meant basic! I’ve seen a few other people’s school make-up routine and it’s more than I’d where for a night out! I would definitely not get away with that. This routine is something I go for quite often if I’m in a rush or keeping it simple!

Hope you’ve enjoyed this post!

My weekend away make up bag!

hiyaa,

So recently I have been on a little one-night-trip to London ( it was really nice, thanks for asking ). So of course I took with me a reasonably small amount of make up to put in a cute little bag to fit in my jam-packed hold all! So I took a fair few minis that I love and mixed up my everyday makeup to accommodate. It was only one day, what’s the worst that could happen!

So I’ll just give you a little look in my little make up bag. I wasn’t sure if to write a little something about each thing. But I think what they do is self explanatory and the fact I’m taking these products with me kinda shows they're some of my faaaaaves!

Let’s take a look…

List of items and links to where you can find them:

So that’s the face I decided to take with me! It’s quite simple and naturaaaalllll…but I love it! Perfect size bag and I think I did a pretty good job whittling it down to those few items! Well done meeee!!

Minis and Samples that I love!

hiyaa,

So I wanted to write this post because I have now got a fair few minis/testers of products that I’m obsessed with but just can’t bring myself to paying the full price for. I love freebies and testers, when some products are just too pricey for me to risk it. Also, who else loves miniatures of things? They are soso cute! Anywayyy, let’s take a look!

Now, obviously this is very popular amongst bloggers and beauty folk. So I couldn’t resist giving this a go. Lucky for me, I got this as a freebie with an order I placed. Errrrm…what can I say…it cleanses my skin, takes off my makeup smoothly ( including waterproof mascara ) and it lives my skin feeling nourished! I spoke more in detail about this product and how I use it in My Skincare Routine. The only reason I haven’t bought the full size product yet is because I can’t justify spending £15.50 on a cleanser! Although I’ll probably HAVE to buy it once my mini runs out!

I got these samples when I ordered online too! It’s 7 days of shadow ( although I already used one a while back ). You can probably use each colour up to five times depending on how much you use ( and maybe how big your eyelid is ). It also comes with a tester of the ‘anti-aging primer potion’ that I am treasuring for a special occasion. These colours are probably some of the least popular shades out of all their eyeshadows but it does let you experiment with more abstract colours as well as giving you an insight into Urban Decay’s quality. And let me tell you I’m in love! But when there are so many more much much cheaper dupes for, let’s say, the Naked 1 palette, Is the additional £50 bill really worth it...yes, yes it is. Don’t worry, these bad boys will be going on my christmas list!

I got this along with last months issue of Glamour magazine. Boy, was I happy when I saw this as an added freebie ( I’d normally get that magazine anyway ). It’s always a bit risky when your freebie is something like brow colour or maybe to see if a foundation matches your skin tone. This only came in 2 colours so from the start I wasn’t quite convinced. But for someone who wouldn’t normally do their brows, this is perfect! It’s basically a tinted brow gel and it just tames and neatens up my pathetic excuse for eyebrows and just lightly fills in any gaps. The reason I haven’t bought this is that Benefit have always been a pricier drugstore brand and £18.50 is just not the money I’m willing to spend on a birthday present for my brow buddies ( even though they do look fabulous ).

So there it is! Products that are on the waiting list to be bought ( might be a bit of bad customer service because these guys might be waiting a while )! I’m sure some of you have samples that you are treasuring til' the last drop or swipe, dreading the day you actually have to buy the full size! And I can’t be the only one that loves minis!

Hope you’ve enjoyed the post!

The infamous Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer!

hiyaa,

So recently I gave in to the pressure, and bought something that practically every beauty blogger loves…the infamous Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer!

I figured if every blogger I trust the opinion of, swears by this product then why wouldn’t it work wonders for me too? So I put it to the test ( for only experimental purposes of course ) and I went ahead and bought it…then used it…then loved it!

It truly is an amazing concealer, and what can I say, it does the job and conceals my horrible dark circles. I got it in the lightest shade as I was recommended, which is no.1 fair. This isn’t my actual skin tone so It doesn't really suit the rest of my face but for under the eyes it just brightens it and makes me look so much more awake! P.S. I may have just got the lightest shade because I can’t be bothered with trying to match my skin tone in-store :)

It says it lasts for 16 hours which I have yet to try, but since I put sooooo much trust into this product to give my face “lasting perfection” , I don’t doubt for one minute that it would lie to me! With the high coverage it gives off and the fact that throughout the day it doesn’t budge and my makeup looks the same, I wouldn’t be surprised if it did last for 16 hours! It really is amazing and if you haven’t tried it yet, then what are you playing at, get yourself down to the shops and buy one…or two…or the entire collection *wink wink*.

To apply this, I spot it around under my eyes then take a slightly damp beauty blender/sponge thing and dab it right in. It does take a lot longer and wayyyy more effort but I find that works best for me and creates the best results.

Sorry for the really gross applicator x
Hope you’ve enjoyed this post, you’ve probably already heard so many good reviews about this concealer, but it’s your lucky day and you get to hear my opinion too! woopieeee!

not MORE makeup...

hiyaa,

Today I’m going to show you a few new beauty products I’ve purchased over the past few weeks.  There’s nothing I love more than buying some new makeup from boots or superdrug and then using it the next day! It gives me a reason to get out of bed and it’s just soso exciting! Sometimes I even scrub off the makeup I already have on and test things out straight away. Usually the stuff I do get are things I’ve been wanting for months or in desperate need of! Also, sometimes if I’m feeling a bit frisky, I might even just by things as an impulse buy!  Reasons for this could be: new-in products or pretty packaging ( nothing can beat a bit of sparkle ).  I also need to spend a lot of time in the shop to justify why I need to buy something, but I’d say I’m pretty good at excuses. I normally just have a little debate in my head, because I can’t just keep spending money willy nilly, which is why I put the system in place.

Anyway, let’s take a look at the stuff I spent my money on this month!
I must admit, I bought this because everybody else loves it. But at least I wasn’t stupid enough to pay the ridiculous price for the full sized product! I know soooo many people who love this ( well, I don’t know them personally but I’ve seen them on a computer screen ) and what better reason to buy something than if loads of people love it. Wrong! Maybe I haven’t given it enough of a chance or maybe I’m using it wrong ( probably the case ) but this just doesn’t sit right on my face. Maybe it’s just the wrong colour for my skin tone, or I’m not used to looking a different way. I’ll update you later if anything changes. I’ll probably end up loving the product!

I’ve had my eyes on these for a while and finally decided to take the plunge! It’s not even that they’re expensive I just couldn’t come up with a reason for needing another gold eye colour! To be fair, I did need a cream gold eye shadow! I got the shade, on and on bronze which does kind of suggest it’s a bronze colour. so haha, yeah, I didn’t really get another gold colour! As the name suggests ‘tattoo’,  don’t worry it does come off, you’d be happy to know but not after a loooooong time! It does say 24 hours but I haven’t fully tested that because I’m a good girl and I take my makeup off at the end of the day! Gold star for me! So, yeah this a really pretty colour and not at all like any other eye shadows I have and very pigmented and easy to apply! Thumbs up from me!

I bought this only a couple of days ago so I have only had chance to try it out once. I wanted something a bit more lightweight than a foundation for the warmer weather so it’s not dripping off my face. I was looking for something like a bb cream or cc cream ( if someone could tell me the difference, that would be a great help ) but instead I stumbled across this so I thought I’d give it a try! It has an SPF of 15 so I thought it would be great for the summer. There are only 2 shades available so I bought the lightest but I’m afraid it’s still to dark for me and orangey so I’m going to need a tan before I can even think about wearing this. A great motivation! Don’t worry, my money won’t be wasted! I’m determined to get a tan! Will update you if it’s anything special!

I wanted a primer for a while, and I won’t lie to you the pretty packaging did lure me in a little! I’ve been using it for just over a week now and I love how it makes my skin look! It doesn't tint my skin but evens it out and blurs the silly redness I get all over my face! I’ve been using it on its own but I’m sure it will work just as well under a foundation. I would say it’s a little overpriced for how small the bottle is and what it actually does. I believe a product should be paid for how hard it works!

Now the summer has come along, I’m adjusting my makeup to cater for the ‘heat’…like that’s going to happen in England! It’s the summer holidays in the UK right now so why don’t you check out my post on 10 things to do on a sunny day!

Hope you enjoyed this post and don’t frown upon my beauty choices!
